Definitely my go to place for diner style breakfast. Food is delicious, affordable, and you get plenty of it. The service is friendly and attentive. There's a reason it's been around since the 40s, I'll leave it at that.

TLDR: Small mom and pop shop that's been around for a while.
____
My friends brought me here on the last day of my visit For a little breakfast.
This Mom and pop shop serves all sorts of folks from the community, which is really cool. The owners make it a point to serve food food to everyone in the community. And to do so they keep their prices affordable.
Benedict - this was good. And a hearty plate!
Getta - the local treat that I'm still pretty unsure what it actually is. I was told this was some of the best in town. Not sure if I love getta or not - might have to try it again.
The only gripe is service was super slow the day I was there. They were busy, but it was super super slow and I had a flight to catch.
But glad I boarded my plane with a full belly. -

Finally made it over to what's called a staple of OTR. Definitely an unassuming little diner with only 7 booths and a few seats at the counter. Our waitress was prompt and hilarious. The food was good, but not as incredible as the hype led me to believe. Solid diner food though. I got some sort of loaded hash brown dish; my fellow diners got the weekend specials which were both good but more pricey. Pro tip: if you sit in booth 7, you get to control the music on the free jukebox. Pro tip 2: customize your meal with whatever your heart desires (add egg, etc), with no problem. Pro tip 3: there's some bacon jelly thing that you can get. Do it.
TLDR: Would 100% go back when I'm looking for no frills, greasy breakfast food, and was satisfied with my meal, but not what I'd request for my dying meal. -

This is what a diner is supposed to be. Simple, small, and serving the neighborhood regulars. The space has a few booths on the right side, counter seating lining the kitchen and prep area on the left side.
Our server was a spitfire and made for a magical dining experience. We came at an off time - after breakfast, before lunch. You can't call it brunch at a diner. Just a get-what-you-want meal. So we did.
Biscuits and gravy came as a starter because why not. I had to try 'em! I have to try it everywhere they're on the menu. These are gooooood. Fluffy biscuit topped with a hearty sausage gravy that's rich, yet comforting. Then, a classic breakfast with eggs over-easy, toast, hash browns, and goetta. The goetta was a must because it was my first time trying it - sausage/oat mixture cut in rectangles and fried up on the flattop. Boy is that stuff salty! Great hangover food - I like the crispy edges from the flat top grill. They gave me two slices, which is one slice too many. I could barely make my way through the one slice. I think breakfast sausage will remain my favorite pick. I also got a bite of my friend's burger and fries, which were stellar. Fries were well seasoned and golden brown. The burger was a classic diner, smashed patty with the works. Burgers are always better with a special sauce and shredded lettuce, mmm!
A must-stop if you want a classic diner experience in Cincy! -

Tucker's is a gem in the heart of Downtown Cincinnati. It's one of the few places left that you can rub elbows with the CEO of a major corporation, or your locals that have lived in the neighborhood for the past 30 years - all while getting your fix of delicious home style fare. Carla and Joe are beautiful people, and you can taste the love they put in to their cooking in every bite. Thanks for keeping it tradition guys, I'll come back for the biscuits and gravy every time I'm in town. Love you all!
Best,
Michelle
